Perhaps I have been rather guilty of watching too much TV over the years. On digital TV here in the U.K. you can enjoy many game shows from the past and present on "Challenge TV". I have enjoyed reliving the 1980's with "Bullseye" and Jim Bowen. Apart from laughing at the contestants dress sense and at some of the prizes on offer (the star prize was a Vauxhall Nova), it has also been amusing to see Jim Bowen's attempts at being positive about some pretty awful darts players.
Also on the same channel is Noel Edmond's slightly odd game of boxes called "Deal or No Deal". For years the show has completely baffled me, but it makes more sense now. Essentially it is a game based on chance as each contestant has to guess the monetary amounts hidden in each box and at the end of each round they are given an offer of selling their own box to the mysterious "telephone banker". One contestant has just won £50,000 and over recent days people have also won anything from £30,000 to £75,000. Some people have also only won 1p as well! It is a strangely gripping show and Noel Edmonds is also quite amusing in his role of host. Hopefully the weather will improve soon for evening walks and I will venture outside my front door again. I really must get out more!
